Third Environmental Research Symposium 2021 - Call for Abstracts 

29 – 30 September 2021

The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) invites environmental sector professionals, policymakers and researchers to submit abstracts that fit under one or more of the symposium themes in Zimbabwe:

Theme 1: Wetlands

1.1 Situational Analysis of wetlands – Role and functioning of wetlands, Wetland degradation, Wetlands and climate change.

1.2 Wetlands Management and Conservation - Interventions

Theme 2: Veld Fires

  1. 1 Veld Fire Management

2.2 Situational Analysis of current veld fire management issues – Case Studies

2.3 Veld Fire Management Interventions

Theme 3: Waste Management (Solid Waste, Plastic Waste, Waste Water/ Effluent, Hazardous Waste, Electronic Waste)

3.1 Waste Management Frameworks

3.2 Situational analysis of the current waste management issues – Case Studies, Rural service centres

3.3 Integrated Waste Management – Interventions, Circular economy             

Guidelines for submission of abstracts:

  • Word count for the abstracts is 300-350 words, Arial, Font 12, Single Space
  • The abstract should bear the sub-theme and at least 6 keywords in the title case and separated by a comma
  • Provide affiliation of all authors and provide the name, email and contact numbers of the corresponding author.
  • Presentation of the full papers will be 15 minutes and 5 minutes questions and discussion.
